Priest Lake on my Own

It was a bit difficult but in retrospect very worth it. Getting off the grid alone is very empowering. I even got some work done! Hello, pre-historic Sweden. Didn't take that many photos because I didn't have my phone with me on Friday (!), and it was cloudy/rainy Saturday. Then it cleared up and was magical.

Boulder 09

They say you can't go home again, and the older I get the more I find that to be true. Boulder is the closest thing to a home I have to go home to and my gift from Gary was the opportunity to go back and see friends, mentors, colleagues, an assemblage of people I'd never get in once place any other way! Thanks, Gary. Your legacy of kindness, hospitality, travel, food, fun and scholarship live on!

My proudest moment: my book on the shelf in the CU library!

Campus: still crazy after all these years.

Pilgrimage to my favorite trail. Left some blood and skin up the canyon. A lesson in mindfulness.

Me and Colin kickin' it on East Pearl, my old hood, much gentrified.

Susan, still the coolest woman in academe, my role model now more than ever.

New Year's Day Run

The way is clear...

For Bubba, it's never to cold for a swim.
And it's the best way to start off the New Year.
